Hello from Shauna Keene

Hello there Pearson Grads!

Well, I followed my dream and became a teacher. I attended Western and I was lucky enough to complete 2 practice teaching sessions at Pearson!!! It was so neat teaching with the greats: D. Wasse, L. Jones, J. Case, R. Bird, J. Ainsley, and others. What a bizarre feeling to eat in the forbidden staff room and go behind the scenes! There are a handful of fabulous new teachers too. T. Da Silva and J. De Pace were my practicum advisers. What an awesome experience!
My husband Jeff and I are so glad to be home in London after living in Oakville and Burlington for 3 years. I taught Art from 1-8, PS and JK Music, 2,3,4 Drama, etc. and lead hip hop and art clubs at Fern Hill School.
Now that we are home, I have been volunteering at Pearson and other schools. Hopefully I will be able to supply at Pearson in the near future. What a fabulous experience to complete the circle from student to trained teacher!
Pearson hasn't changed, except that the library has been painted blue and the golden shag carpet is now a different colour. The halls are as thriving as ever with eager and talented students. I've had a chance to catch a glimpse of the 2006 recording of Reflections and it is spectacular. It makes me smile that all of my past teachers remember my name and usually have an anecdote to share with me. We were so lucky. I hope that you are all doing well. I know you are doing great things.
Here's a picture of my hubby Jeff and I from Christmas. (I still look the same!)
Take care,
Shauna Keene

Roopa Says Hey !!

Hey everyone! This is going to be wild! I can't wait to see what all of you are up to these days. Well, in true Pearson fashion I went on a got my BFA in Dance from York University....isn't that crazy? Who knew? I sure didn't. Mrs. Woytowicz planted the seed! I have lived in Toronto basically for the last seven years. Last fall I had a mini Pearson reunion at my place and about twelve people showed up and we had a blast! Erin Lewis had another mini one this past summer....it was good to see you Mr. Wasse!
I am currently in teacher's college at York and I truly think it is my calling. I can't imagine myself doing anything else. In my spare time I co-produce multidisciplinary arts shows with the focus being on contemporary dance. We call ourselves Vessel Dance Projects. I also take pictures and write poetry. My time at Pearson has really made me a lifelong lover of the arts. Last winter I had the amazing opportunity to come back to Pearson and conduct a choreographic workshop with the grade eights. What a full circle moment that was. I have also spent some time on the east coast and lived for a summer in Cardiff, Wales. I hope to be in touch with some of you long lost souls. You can catch me at roopacheema@gmail.com!

Kevin Lenz checks in from Atlanta...

Well it is good to see that some people are actually using this!! Well here is a little run down about me .. I've basically been living in the US since 1999. Went to College to play football in Iowa (Don't ask) and was there for about 4.5 yrs. Then starting in 2004, I accepted a job working for Deloitte and Touche based out of Atlanta. It's an accounting firm .. So I'll leave it at that. I try to do as much travel as possible, however, my travel is based on where I am working. Which hasn't been all bad. Was able to go over to Germany, up to Canada a lot, and generally up and down the east coast of the US. But I would love to get back in touch with people and find out what everyone is up to these days! Anyway, shoot me an e-mail at klenz@deloitte.com and let me know what you are up to!!

Hope everyone can make use of this Blog - Kevin

Megan Bailey speaks up from the West.

Class of 94 seems terribly old . . .

I can't possibly let Chris have all the fun up on the blog, so here goes the profile for Megan Bailey:

I am currently living in Vancouver, doing my Masters at UBC in Fisheries Management. I should be defending my thesis next summer, and hopefully graduating in the fall of '07. My time is split between my place in Vancouver, my project in Indonesia, my boyfriend's place in Nashville, and my family's home in London. I'd love to end up in Vancouver for good, but that's up to all kinds of other life things! I can be reached at m.bailey@fisheries.ubc.ca

Well - someone has to go first !

It's Chris Bennett - now living in Vancouver (got that west coast thing going on) very laid back as the CEO of his own media company, New School Media. Google the guy and see what happens. Mr. Wasse always said he could talk, talk , talk.

He's also National Campaign Chair for the Green Party of Canada. You can reach out and contact Chris at bennettcoastal@gmail.com
